BREAD & BUTTER celebrated a premiere in the Shôko Lounge Club in Barcelona

BREAD & BUTTER celebrated a premiere in the Shôko Lounge Club in Barcelona: for the first time, the company awarded the Young Talent Prize 07 in its second home Barcelona in cooperation with the Catalan fashion school "Escuela Superior de Diseño y Moda Felicidad Duce".

The award for the best designer of the “Graduation Show” – the design school’s official exam show, which took place during the BBBarcelona in July 2007 – went to Manuel Bolaño. The second award went to the graduate Andrea Llosa, who has already won the second prize of the “Mittelmoda Fashion Awards” in Gorizia, Italy.

Both prizewinners will be honoured with a stand in Studio VI at the BBBarcelona in January 2008. The studio is one of the most important platforms for young, progressive fashion design talents, offering them the opportunity to present their collections in an extraordinary environment, from installations to temporary exhibitions.

With the Young Talent Prize 07, BREAD & BUTTER is expanding B&B Design – a project that is led by Bernadette Wittman Glittenberg, just as the B&B Studio – with an additional, important component. B&B Design supports new, progressive design talents and brings them together with key industry players. The cooperation with the “Escuela Superior de Diseño y Moda Felicidad Duce” and other fashion schools based in the city underscores BREAD & BUTTER’s goal of intensifying already close ties to Barcelona.

At the last B&BBarcelona, BREAD & BUTTERalready worked with the “Escuela Superior de Diseño y Moda Felicidad Duce” and offered graduates the opportunity to present their works to an international audience within the framework of various projects: alongside the “Graduation Show”, the students could each exhibit two outfits from their exam projects in 38 leading Barcelona fashion and lifestyle stores, allowing them to simultaneously present their works to the general public, industry insiders and future customers.

Additionally, the “Dust Exhibition” offered the graduates an artistic platform for the creative interpretation of the theme “Dust”. The designs were created exclusively for B&B Design and were shown as part of a one-of-a-kind installation at BBBarcelona. A movie, specially developed for the project by photographer and filmmaker Björn Tagemose, accompanied the designs. B&B Design will be continued in January with different national and international projects and partners.
